I love trains.. I frequently spend an entire day riding New Jersey Transit, the Long Island Railroad or Metro North just for the pleasure of it.

When there is a long distance promotion by AMTRAK I jump for it. Wonderful dining and sleeping on a train. So far I have logged five overnight trips to Chicago, three Trans-Continental one way trips and one on the famous the Coast Starlight which runs south from Seattle to Los Angles.

Most of the equipment shown here is on display at the Strasbourg Steam Railway and the adjoining Pennsylvania Railway Museum, Steam Town in Scranton PA, and the B&O Railway Museum in Baltimore.

The street cars (Trolley's) are mostly displayed at the Branford Trolley Museum near New Haven CT.

The 3 passenger terminals are Grand Central Station in New York. It's the largest in the world from the standpoint of track-age. The Lackawanna Terminal in Hoboken NJ it's famous for its Tiffany Glass Ceiling and I could not pass up the displaying the monumental entrance and concourse of Chicago's Union Station. It was made famous in DePalma's movie the Untouchables.

All photos are digital in origin. The black and whites derive from color originals. For some reason a steam loco presented in color doesn't make it (in my book!)
